Overview of the admin/user panels on the Somanetics Invos 5100C. This device takes NIRS readings (near-infrared radiation spectroscopy), which takes cerebral oximetery readings on the right and left sides of the forehead. On infants, since there is not enough surface area, one of the sensor probes can be adhered to the lower back (renal, or systemic) area. Labels can be set up for any alpha character: typically C (cerebral), S (systemic), L (left), and R (right). The units must be set up for 4 channel output to activate the data output. No data is received from the RS232 ports if the device is set up to 2 channel mode.
