This song is about Ikarus (Ikaros) from the Greek mythology. Icarus was the son of the master craftsman Daedalus, the architect of the labyrinth of Crete, and his wife Naucrate. After Theseus, king of Athens and enemy of King Minos, escaped from the labyrinth, Minos suspected that Icarus and Daedalus had revealed the labyrinth's secrets and thus imprisoned them. Icarus and Daedalus escaped using wings Daedalus constructed from birds' molted feathers, threads from blankets, the leather straps from their sandals, and beeswax. Before escaping, Daedalus warned Icarus not to fly too low or the water would soak the feathers and not to fly too close to the sun or the heat would melt the wax. Icarus ignored Daedalus' instructions not to fly too close to the Sun, causing the beeswax in his wings to melt. Icarus fell from the sky, plunged into the sea, and drowned. This is the second version I release of this song. The lyrics has been modified to better the original story. The first version was named “Let Me Fly”, but later realized the original story was basically about the opposite. So I changed that line to “Let Me Die”. I was considering other lines like “let me dive”, “let me drown”, “let me crash”. I decided that “Let Me Die” was was worked best, it might sound brutally, but then again, this is mythology/fairy tale. Actually, the last time this line is sang in the song, Suno strangely changed it to “Let Me Fly”, and I decided to keep that. If anyone wants to hear the song with the original lyrics, it is available here: • Let Me Fly (Icarus' song) Part of the playlist • Songs about Greek Mythology Note that Icarus is of course a man, but I decided to use a woman voice for the song, it feels softer. i.e. it should be seen like a woman telling Icarus story. #music #aigeneratedmusic #greekmythology #relaxmusic #ikarus #ikaros
