Fold like and Egyptian! Here's a greeting card that opens up into a pyramid. It's an unpublished (except for here) model that I designed recently. To make the Pop-up pen holder variation you only need to make some small adjustments: Go to the 8:00 minute mark of the video and see how the raw corners are folded together so that they almost... well, to make the pop-up pyramid, the two raw corners should come all the way together BUT instead of valley-folding them together, you should mountain-fold them, hiding the raw corners behind the nearest layer only, which will result in a white pyramid pencil holder on a grey card. So that the finished card closes a little easier you can fold the two hidden flaps once more making a fold line that connects the two penciled X's (but on the hidden layer). This further hides the corners of the flaps. AAaaa!
