Yet again, I made a Virus TI inspired Hardstyle lead, in the style of oldschool Hardstyle. This lead was made with 3 'hypersaw' oscillators (turn ANA off and Spire will emulate the Virus hypersaw) and a 'sub' oscillator (square wave + 9 voices) on OSC 4. The square wave adds a nice flavor to the 'hypersaws', but it should not be on full volume (it will eat up the 'hypersaws'), it should be probably around 30-40% only. I also use unison stack so some of the oscillators can play multiple octaves at the same time, but this is not necessary however. In terms of effects, I use the phaser (with no lfo rate/depth on it) to give it a bit of a softer and darker feel. I used the Spire EQ to add more power in the mids and highs. I also used the x-comp, which I think is similar to FL Studio's Soundgoodizer. It adds some power, which is what you need to do in order to make Spire sound more like the Virus TI. I use external reverb and delay, the internal ones are not that good for Hardstyle. I use a LP4 filter and it's connected to ENV 3. On ENV 3, I have made the decay parameter wider (you can click on the decay envelope and it will shift shape). That way, the filter won't sound so flat when you close it, it will have more power and sound more like the Virus TI filter. In the end, this lead is not hard to make. Lots of unison detuning on the 'hypersaws' and that 'sub' oscillator and then it's all about taking advantage of the effects that come with Spire and add some external reverb delay (and EQ if you want to fine tune the sound a bit extra). The oscillators should also be in mono (i.e don't use the 'wide' knob) imo, but you can set them to stereo if you want to. My Hardstyle Soundbank Volume.2 for Spire is out now!
