A few things to note about this route: 1) For whatever reason, the train will usually stop moving completely if you are on the roof of the ICA facility next to the lotus passage. I'm wondering if it works similarly to the Heaven and Hell parties in Blood Money's Dance with the Devil mission, where, if you are in Heaven, for example, all the NPCs in Hell freeze. However, there was one run where the train did not stop, and the targets weren't in position to die, leaving me to wonder if the train's movement is tied to my position or my sniper rifle. I need to test this further, as I would have liked to hide on the roof for a perfect view of the lotus passage. This abnormal behavior actually made the kill easier to set up, however, as I had enough time to place the tripwire mine without being seen or blown up. 2) The setup for the kill is simple enough. The tripwire mine is placed on a beer bottle, aimed at an angle above the train tracks. I sabotage the gas canister on the walkway, and throw a propane flask between that and the mine. The mine blows up when the train passes the laser, setting off the leaking propane canister, and that flask sets off the gas tank on the bridge. Both targets die in a tragic accident, oopsie. 3) I had to include that dialogue with the woman in the rain in this route. It's mandatory for any route on this level. It adds so much character to the mission, and I love it. While I must enter the data core when using the train starting location, I feel like that is also mandatory for any route. Exposing the ICA, after all, is why 47 is even there, so it doesn't feel right to kill both targets and simply escape. I love the atmosphere and visuals of the megacity of Chongqing in Hitman's End of an Era mission. Hitman really nailed the whole rainy and gritty neon cyberpunk vibe, as the masters of atmosphere at Io have always done, but I really wish the targets didn't look like rejects from Cyberpunk 2077. I was hoping for something a bit more grounded and modern feeling, mixed with some futuristic tech. I hate how you can only use screwdrivers on vent covers in the ICA facility, and I still hate that the ICA facility is even a thing, distracting from the best area of the level: the city streets. Allowing players to use screwdrivers on both doors and vents would also be a fantastic quality of life improvement for the game. The horrible, lazily implemented camera mechanic from Hitman 3 really brings the level down a notch. However, this level has one of the best sniper assassin methods (with several annoying drones to destroy), and I've finally found out some tricks that'll help to lure Hush into the city and out of his lair for another cool kill at street level. I'm happy to say that this mission keeps getting better and better, especially compared to when I first played it in 2021, and now it's probably in my top 3 Hitman 3 maps in terms of gameplay, along with Apex Predator (Berlin) and The Farewell (Mendoza). Anyway, enjoy the video, and, if you don't mind doing so, please like and subscribe. Thank you for watching! As usual, this route restricts me to running only on stairs, Master difficulty, 2 pacifications or fewer, and limited HUD elements (no instinct, no NPC icons, no minimap).
