Ed Reavy was an Irish-American fiddle player and composer of Irish traditional music. He was born in Knappagh, Co. Cavan in 1897 and died in 1988. He spent most of his life in Philadelphia where he immigrated to in 1912. This 1979 Rounder record label recorded on location, features recordings of musicians in their own homes. It's estimated that Ed Reavy composed between 400 to 500 Reels, Jigs, Hornpipes, Flings and Highlands. Credit to the musicians who participated in this recording.
