This video is a documentary about Erich Zakowski, his cars and the men who drove them. The Zakspeed Capri and Mustangs were some of the most interesting race cars ever made. Zakspeed and Ford takes on the Fire breathing turbocharged monsters of Group 5 and the king of the hill which was the Porsche 935 Turbo. Video Corrections: The Kevlar body panels are are not a hybrid of carbon and fiberglass. While there are hybrid Carbon-Kevlar body panels today that use a mixed weave of carbon, kevlar, and fiber glass. The original Zakspeed Capri uses Kevlar. The later Zakspeed GTP Mustang would use Carbon fiber body panels. Besides the original Capri's, and later GTP race cars, I cannot confirm what type of body kits the two Group 5 Mustangs had. The Saleen Mustang at the end of the video does not use Zakspeed parts that have any affiliation with the Zakspeed company. The Saleen Mustang race car used ground effects that shared a strikingly similar design to those found on the Zakspeed Mustang and Capri.
