What a fantastic, etherial piece. My first Gigout! (from the collections “Cent Pièces Brèves Nouvelles”) Of course, his Toccata is wel known to the general public. But I often like to take the small roads from the organ world. And on such small road, I found this piece. I’ve played it with Nancy while altering the registrations from “douce” to a more firm approach, trying to use the huge reverb and the spacious acoustics from Nancy in the best possible way. I’ve decided to play the piece articulated legato with the right hand and legato with the left hand. As a solo stop I’ve used the cornet. Let me know what you think about my interpretation!
