Limagrain UK Forage crops product manager, John Spence introduces new fodder beet variety, Fosyma. Fosyma fodder beet is a brand new variety with seed available now. It has pink coloured roots that grow approximately 60% out of the ground, making it excellent for grazing livestock. Fosyma has good leaf mass with big, strong leaves that are suitable for lifting with leaf lifting equipment, as well as a sugar beet harvester. Fosyma fodder beet has very high yields and high dry matter, making it very winter hardy and highly resistant to bolting. So, if you want to drill slightly earlier, then Fosyma could be a good option to consider. Commercially available for your usual seed merchant.
