In speaking to alumni from Boone County High School willing to share their experiences across multiple decades, a clearer image of all the half-measures taken to remove the confederate imagery and racist symbols from the school emerges–even as the name “Rebels” remains. The most famous alum from Boone County High School in Florence, KY is without a doubt, Shaun Alexander. He played for the Seattle Seahawks and Washington when they were still a racial slur. We wanted to chat with him about his experience at Boone and get him to join the cause. Listen for yourself to find out how close we got.
