Guess I'll take the L while I, once again, accidentally unload on Saxhorn-Cornet guy. Yes, it is possible to get completely different sounds from any of the common 4.5'Bb instruments, but they don't readily produce different tones without some effort from the player. Git gud! Out of my bits and bobs, I successfully acquired a functional Bb crook and an Eb crook that I can use on my short-action valve Cornet. Both of these are fitted with 10.25mm mouthpiece receivers, so it's time to grab the big backbore beast and start blasting. Eb Long Cornet is fun and all, but it's probably a terrible idea given that you are trading a lot of stability for arguably worse fingerings and access to low notes that sound terrible. mouthpiece: JK Exclusive Trumpet-Classic 2D A3 10.25 obliterated song: The Last Rose of Summer
