Which type of guitar should you get if you're about to begin playing guitar? Or maybe you want to know the differences in an acoustic and electric guitar, this is the video for you. Acoustic guitars require no electricity, no amplifier, and they're very versatile for that reason. For beginners, acoustic guitar can feel a bit more tense on your fingers due to the higher string tension. Acoustic guitars will also never lie. If you make a mistake in your playing, you'll be able to hear it. Electric guitars can sometimes mask mistakes when there's added distortion or other effects. Electric guitars are a bit slimmer in their neck profiles and their string tension is not as tight, making them a bit easier to fret. But of course, electric guitars require an amplifier, a cable and power outlet. Sure, you can practice on an unplugged electric, but it won't sound all that great. Acoustic and electric guitars offer a number of advantages and disadvantages and it all depends on what you want to do first as a guitar player.
