It was Day One of our Tawang Ride. We started our journey from Agartala at 3:30 in the morning. The rain was pouring down, and the roads were slippery. Because of the rain, we had to ride slowly all the way from Agartala to Kumarghat — it took us more than five hours. From the very beginning, the journey felt like a rollercoaster — full of ups and downs. After crossing Churaibari, we entered Assam and stopped for lunch before continuing our ride. But soon, the biggest challenge of the day appeared — the Sonapur road. There were thousands of trucks lined up, and riding through them was tough. Luckily, it was daytime, so we managed without much trouble. Trust me, if you ever have to cross that stretch at night — it’s a nightmare. All those trucks start moving and it gets crazy. This time, though, the road condition had improved a bit — earlier it used to be much worse. The ride ahead wasn’t easy — full of off-roading and rough patches. Somewhere along the way, my partner’s bike suspension broke down. We somehow managed to reach Jowai and found a small room to rest for the night.
