I visited Hohenschwangau and Neuschwanstein castles as part of a road trip through the Romantische Straße I took with my wife in early April 2019. On the 2nd of April, after leaving Wieskirche at about 6pm, we drove towards our night accommodation near Füssen. Whilst driving, along the road I noticed in distance the unmistakable Neuschwanstein castle; so we decided to stop as soon as possible in order to take a quick flight with the drone. We managed to park by the beautiful Sankt Koloman church and there I managed to start recording some images of the two castles. It was cloudy and almost 7pm so we didn't stay long in order to continue our trip towards the B&B. The following day it was still cloudy but with some sunny openings, so I could get some better footage. Before 9am we had our tickets done and were ready to start the guided tour of Hohenschwangau castle, which was the childhood residence of King Ludwig II of Bavaria. The tour was nice and took us through some nicely decorated rooms with original furniture. Once we finished with Hohenschwangau we walked to the nearby castle of Neuschwanstein which is absolutely stunning! Here we also had a guided tour but you won't see much furniture in the rooms since the castle has barely been inhabited; given King Ludwig died before the construction was completed.
