This was our first Kings Day in the Netherlands. We decided to stay at home in the city we love...Rotterdam! As expats coming from the US we had no idea what to expect. How serious are these people about Kings Day? Do people get out on this national holiday, and do they really dress up? come along and let's get all these questions answered. As an expat that moved from the US to the Netherlands we were surprised at how big the celebrations were for Kings Day were and how much the country embraces this holiday. We also learned real quick how much fun it can be. Don't let anyone tell you that life in the Netherlands is boring!
