Boston ChoirFest 2024 - in partnership with the Cape Town Camerata “Beautiful Things” by Benson Boone Arranged by Jade Paige Performed by the DF Malan High School Choir Boston ChoirFest 2024 Conducted by Jade Paige "Beautiful Things" is a "ballad about the meaning of life", where Boone reflects on gratitude for life, love and the "volatility of happiness". The song adds a "more powerful" layer to the "softness" he exhibited with previous singles like "In the Stars", helping him bring out "all of his character" from inside and performing different "vocal turns". Consisting of "soulful verses" paired with a "powerful chorus", Boone showcases "raw, emotive vocals". The DF Choir has 140 dynamic choir members, more than 10% of the school body! The choir participated in the Tygerberg Eisteddfod and ATKV Applous in 2022 and 2023, and was privileged to reach the final rounds of both competitions. The school has had a very rich choral culture over the years and it is great to see that it is never lost. At DF we are in the business of Academic Excellence, but it is safe to say that Choral Excellence is a high priority as well!
