Audi has pulled the wraps off the third-generation Q3, aiming to set a new benchmark in the compact SUV segment. With over two million units sold since its introduction, the Q3 remains a core product for the brand. This latest generation introduces a bold design update, advanced lighting technology, upgraded powertrains, and a comprehensive suite of digital and driver assistance features. The redesigned Q3 sports a more muscular stance, highlighted by Audi’s wide Singleframe grille and sharply contoured headlights that blend into the SUV’s aerodynamic silhouette. Horizontal lines along the flanks and a reworked rear design with continuous LED strips give the vehicle a cleaner, more dynamic profile. A key highlight is the introduction of digital Matrix LED headlights using micro-LED technology, a first for Audi’s compact segment. With 25,600 micro-LEDs per module, the system offers highly precise lighting, improved visibility in poor conditions, and integrates closely with driver assistance systems to enhance safety. The rear features optional digital OLED taillights, with 36 segments creating distinctive light signatures. Interior Inside, Audi continues to shift its compact offerings closer to the full-size segment in terms of digital sophistication. A 12.8-inch MMI touch display is paired with an 11.9-inch digital instrument cluster, forming what Audi calls its "digital stage." The new steering column integrates gear and lighting controls, opening up additional storage space in the center console. Sustainability also plays a role in the updated cabin. Several interior elements, including seat fabrics and floor mats, are made from recycled materials such as Econyl and recycled polyester. Up to nine interior packages allow customers to tailor the Q3’s interior, while optional ambient lighting and illuminated door panels add to the premium feel. Cargo flexibility remains a strong point: the standard 488-liter trunk expands to 1,386 liters with the rear seats folded. The adjustable rear bench further increases practicality, making the Q3 suitable for a wide range of daily tasks. Expanded Powertrain Lineup Audi is offering a diverse powertrain lineup for the new Q3. The entry-level model features a 1.5-liter TFSI gasoline engine producing 150 PS, utilizing mild-hybrid technology and Cylinder on Demand for improved efficiency. A 2.0-liter TFSI quattro variant delivers 265 PS and 400 Nm of torque for those seeking more power, while a 2.0-liter TDI diesel option caters to long-distance drivers with 150 PS and 360 Nm. The most significant update arrives in the form of the Q3 e-hybrid plug-in model. With a combined system output of 272 PS and a new 25.7 kWh battery, the e-hybrid nearly doubles its previous electric range, offering up to 119 kilometers of electric-only driving under WLTP standards. DC fast charging up to 50 kW allows an 80% recharge in under 30 minutes, making electric driving more practical for daily use. Driving and Safety Driving dynamics have also seen notable improvements. Audi offers standard suspension, sport suspension, and a new two-valve damper system that continuously adjusts damping based on road conditions and driving inputs. Optional progressive steering sharpens handling, while the updated Audi drive select system introduces a new "balanced mode" blending comfort and performance. For off-road capability, "Offroad plus" mode is also available for quattro models. The new Q3 integrates a wide array of driver assistance technologies, many of which were previously reserved for higher segments. Standard features include adaptive cruise preparation, lane departure warning, emergency assist, traffic sign recognition, and front emergency braking. Optional systems such as adaptive driving assistant plus provide semi-automated driving support up to 210 km/h and assist with lane changes at highway speeds. In case of driver incapacitation, the Q3’s emergency assistant can now autonomously steer the vehicle to a safe stop and alert emergency services. An interior camera monitors driver attention, while innovative parking features allow the Q3 to learn and execute complex parking maneuvers with minimal driver input. Reverse assist and a surround-view camera system further simplify tight parking situations. The third-generation Audi Q3 is set to hit German and European showrooms starting in October 2025, with orders opening this summer. In Germany, the Q3 SUV TFSI 110 kW starts at €44,600, while the Q3 SUV e-hybrid 200 kW is priced from €49,300. Production will be split between Audi’s plants in Győr, Hungary, and Ingolstadt, Germany.
