VN24 - 24.07.2024 (D/M/Y) - Unna / Germany - A dramatic accident occurred in the evening of 24.07. 2024 around 8:13 pm, when the driver of a Porsche GT3 apparently lost control of the 510 hp sports car after driving over a bump on the road surface on the A44 freeway in the eastbound direction, shortly before the Dortmund/Unna (A44/A1) junction, and crashed into the woods after a 250 meter (820 ft) long skid mark, through which the vehicle cut a veritable swath and broke off several trees. The fuel tank must have spilled, because the Porsche hit the ground in a fireball and caught ablaze in a matter of seconds. Sadly, the two occupants, father and son (aged 52 and 20), did not manage to free themselves from the vehicle in time. Both deceased at the scene. Various video portals are showing unauthorized dashcam footage of a witness, which can certainly be found using the search terms 'Porsche', 'accident', 'A44'... For understandable reasons, we are not publishing these images, which show almost the entire course of the accident, in agreement with the author of the images and the state prosecutor's office.
