In this video I am removing and restoring the taillight lenses and housings on my 1980 Widebody project named WideFox. The early foxbody mustang lenses are not reproduced, so if you have a set or need a set, you know how hard they are to find on online forums and groups. Sometimes you can find a set in a salvage yard too. The original lights on WideFox were broken on both sides. I was able to find someone selling a couple sets, so I bought them and put them away earlier this year. It was finally time to get them out of storage and refinish both the lenses and housings and then put them back together for the car. The process is pretty simple to complete. Start by wet sanding the lenses and housings with 400-grit wet/dry sandpaper. Once complete you can then clean both off and tape the areas you don't want to paint black. Paint the details black with SEM Exterior Trim Paint. Once dry, remove all of the tape and cover the lenses with a clear coat. If you have any questions on the process, just let me know!
