A solo winter journey through the Scottish Highlands on the old BMW K75. This trip was defined by the incredible winter sun, which brought a clarity to the landscape that you only get this time of year. Riding through Glenshiel, the light was perfect, and we were lucky enough to encounter stags along the roadside. The highlight of the route is, as always, the Bealach na Bà (The Pass of the Cattle). Crossing the Bealach in winter requires a bit more focus, but the views from the top across to the Isle of Skye in that low light are unbeatable. After heading through Applecross, I made my way down to Strontian to end the trip. I can highly recommend Sunart Camping—staying in one of their cabins was the perfect way to warm up after a day in the saddle.
