Math should be fun, in our household we have a fight song - MATH IS MY LIFE! The other day we learned about SKIP counting, which is a foundational skill for multiplication. When this becomes too easy for your child, have them skip count by threes or fours, or even 12s! You don’t need a trampoline to do this lesson, a jump rope is just as fun! This was a ten minute introduction into the purpose behind skip counting. As we went throughout the week I gave them more opportunities to skip count - we counted boats on the ocean by 2s, skipped up steps to get to the top faster, and organized the shoe bin.
