Overview: I'm Introducing a museum called Amna Suraka or the red building that symbolizes genocide against the Kurdish people in the northern region of Iraq (Kurdistan). This prison was converted into a museum to showcase the genocide during the Baath regime against the Kurdish people and also to showcase the many inhumane acts that took place in the prison. Why I created this film: My name is Diana Raoof. I created this documentary because I wanted people around the world to learn about the injustices brought against the Kurdish people for decades. The Kurdish people faced many genocides throughout history; however, their voices were not heard enough. I wanted to help shed light on that part of history and honor the innocent people who lost their lives, families, and friends to these genocides.
