-History: The Matrosenlied or "Wir fahren gegen Engeland" as most people give that name to this song, is a German sailor song originally from ww1. Parts of the lyrics literally translate to "We will sail against England", wich implied the naval warfare between the UK and Germany. This is a pretty well known song. I've spoken to a ww2 Dutch veteran a while back. He really enjoys the music back in his day and also collected records and even sold me some. He told me about the British and American soldiers entering his city of Tilburg and singing "Wir fahren gegen Engeland" because they really liked the tune, even though they had no idea what they were actually singing. -The quality of the record: Unfortunately the record is in very bad shape.
