Ah, I love this one. One of my best sources of inspiration has to be one of my own stories called "The Traveler". The majority of music that comes from this story is extremely cinematic and I find myself always coming back to relisten to them. "The Great Cloud" is the name of a pirate ship owned by the great pirate Captain Bandat Iron. Here's the catch: the ship isn't made for water. In fact, the ship flies. Usually through the cosmos. That being said, a ship floating in the sky is just the absolute best imagery ever and so a song for it had to be exceptional. The piece opens with a wonderful of Captain Iron's theme, which is played out on these fantastic bass horns with strings going crazy in the background. This goes straight into melodies written for the events that take place on the ship, be it fighting or something more leisurely. This finally leads into a bit that would serve as a star thematic. I specifically saw the main character admiring the wonders of the stars during that part. The piece ends on a wonderfully calm note, in which each part of the song is replayed on a piano. This part in particular turned out fantastically. The piece as a whole took about a week to make, with me spending at least two days, if not more, on each part of the piece. It's really a bit of a suite, this one, as it contains multiple themes for a specific aspect of the story. I really do love the story this one tells though. Just listen to the song and ask yourself, "what do I see?" I find that I get a different answer every time. Enjoy!
