Today we are making a product with Mothers Day in mind (it is this weekend here in the UK). Though in reality, this shower cream would be a perfect gift for any family member or friend. We are using Olivem 1000 to create a thick shower cream, which feels like a rich lotion when applied to the skin but then foams and bubbles when it comes into contact with water. Though this is an emulsified recipe, it is not too tricky - a good beginners oil in water emulsification! Due to SCI and cocamidopropyl betaine being our surfactants of choice, this recipe doesn't really need PH adjusting as both of those surfactants are fairly well suited to the natural PH of skin. Being able to skip the PH testing step does make things a little easier! We have scented our shower cream with "Peony & Blush Suede" fragrance oil by Candleshack as this is such a gorgeous, floral scent and really fits with our Mothers Day theme. We also used some hot pink water soluble dye to colour it pink - though I did get a bit heavy handed and it came out a lot brighter than I had initially been hoping for! We will be taking you through the different steps to creating this shower cream in this video, so you can recreate it at home should you wish to. We will also be giving a brief demonstration of the shower cream in action, so you can see how nicely it bubbles and see the lovely thick, creamy consistency. If you wish to recreate our Peony & Blush Suede shower cream. Then the ingredients you will need are as follows: Phase A 45g SCI Powder (15%) 75g Cocamidopropyl Betaine (25%) 9g Olivem 1000 (3%) 6g Broccoli Seed Oil (2%) 6g Argan Oil (2%) 6g Mango Butter (2%) Phase B 134.9g Distilled Water (44.97%) 9g Glycerin (3%) 1.5g Xanthan Gum (0.5%) 0.09g Hot Pink water soluble dye (0.03%) - use less if you don't want such a bright colour! Phase C 6g Peony & Blush Suede fragrance oil (from Candleshack) 1.5g Preservative Eco (0.5%) If you enjoy our videos and soap making tutorials please do give us a like and subscribe :-) You can purchase our soaps here: www.sussexsoap.co.uk Follow us on Patreon for bonus content here: / thesussexhandmadesoapco Follow us on our other channels here: www.facebook.com/sussexhandmadesoap www.instagram.com/sussex_handmade_soap If you do head over to our website, we offer our Youtube friends 20% off purchases if you enter code "youtube20" at checkout :-)
