The whale returns in G rank with a purple coat of paint and different move patterns! Failing this quest at the very end is one of the biggest downers you can possibly experience. The NUMBER ONE priority for Hallowed Jhen is to make sure none of his dangerous moves connect in the first phase. You won't time out in this quest because he's absurdly aggressive in the final showdown, he'll almost always bellyflop the shit out of the Dragonship repeatedly until it breaks. In the final showdown I run straight to him to force him to waste time doing mini bellyflops and stuff while trying to hit his stomach. After he inevitably reaches the ship you should dragonator ASAP so that it can recharge and be used again. At least the reward for hunting HJM is pretty good--the armor set it unlocks not only lets you grab Sharpness+1 and Razor Sharp with no conflicts, but every piece is also a pretty good mix set option on its own. You can pretty easily make all of the pieces besides the arms, which require allbraces. Since those require breaking BOTH arms for a chance at a single drop you can probably see why I'm not making those. As a final sidenote I recorded in 1440p but forgot to increase the bitrate to compensate, which is why the quality looks kind of spotty. I'm probably going to stick to 1080p because encode times can get insane.
