Seymour Duncan JB Vs Custom/59 Hybrid Comparison for Metal I used the same Ibanez S540 for both pickups. 25.5" Scale length, bolt on maple neck, mahogany body, rosewood fingerboard. Guitar was tuned to C# Standard for all riffs. I used a selection of Default presets from the Line 6 Helix. Each riff was played through the same preset with no tweaks. The same HP/LP filter was applied to both tracks with no additional EQ. I prefer the Hybrid for this tuning. The lows are tighter and punchier and the mids are smoother and less aggressive. I find that It doesn't slam the front of the amp as hard and I can get more articulate feel when playing.
