Review: Walthers Proto EMD F7 A-B Southern Pacific Black Widow SP w/LokSoundv5 DCC & Sound HO Scale

Today we'll take a look at 2 F7A-B sets from Walthers Proto in the gorgeous Southern Pacific "Black Widow" paint scheme with factory equipped LokSoundv5 DCC/Sound. These models arrived in stores in summer 2022, and I purchased them new in January 2024 directly from Walthers as part of their "Warehouse Sale," which has different items each month available at discounted prices. These models were another bucket-list model for me, as I love seeing videos of the ABBA SP sets run at the San Diego Model Railroad Museum, and knew I needed my own someday. These models are a little lacking in underbody detail, but still run very smoothly. Also, I forgot to call it out, but there is no difference between the road numbers besides the numbers themselves (i.e. no road number-specific details). A major note, the function list listed in the included manual is incorrect, but primarily incomplete. I have created a list of the true functions factory programmed to the best of my knowledge, and show off those features in the demo portion of the review.
