Released exclusively in Japan in 1993, this sequel to Battle Mania (Trouble Shooter) takes everything great about the original and dials it up to 11. You’re back in control of the stylish and sarcastic heroines Mania and Maria, blasting through a wild sci-fi world filled with over-the-top enemies, chaotic bullet patterns, and jaw-dropping boss fights. Daiginjō is faster, tougher, and way more polished than its predecessor — and it’s widely regarded as one of the best shooters on the system. 🕹️ Why is Daiginjō a big deal? Incredible sprite work and animation Dynamic stage design that mixes horizontal and vertical scrolling An absolutely killer soundtrack Tons of screen-filling action and creative boss encounters Cult status due to its limited release and rarity This game didn’t just improve on the first — it perfected the formula. Unfortunately, its ultra-limited print run has made it one of the most expensive Genesis/Mega Drive games ever, but if you can find a way to play it (emulation, reproduction, etc.), it’s 100% worth your time. 💬 Have you played Battle Mania: Daiginjō?
