He underwent his training at the Jose R. Reyes Memorial Medical Center. During his training, he was an active leader and became president of different organizations such as Resident Physician Organization of his training institution and Philippine Urological Residents Association. He was also a research enthusiast and presented his papers in various local and international conferences. Several of his research works won in contests and were published in peer reviewed journals both locally and internationally.
