Music video for “Love Song” performed by Anja Kotar. With not much else to do during quarantine, I started watching a lot of films (mostly romantic comedies) and started fantasizing about the perfect meet-cute. I’m a huge romantic and I always envisioned love like in the movies - deep and authentic, finding your ‘the one’ person in the most magical, beautiful way. I started writing ‘Love Song’ as sort of my thesis on how I view love, how I one day hope it turns out for me :) I sent the demo to my friend and producer Dimitri Morris, and a few days later, he came back with this dreamy, almost Disney princess-like instrumental that can now be heard in the song. I hope that one day I get to play this to my husband and say: ‘see, I always knew it would be like this’. :) Instagram: / anja.kotar Facebook: / anjakotarartist Site: http://www.anjakotar.com listen to “Love Song” on Spotify: https://open.spotify.com/track/0gCaTl... listen to “Love Song” on Apple Music: https://music.apple.com/us/album/love... download “Love Song” on SoundCloud: / anja-kotar-love-song VIDEO shot on iPhone 12 Pro Director: Anja Kotar Cinematographer: Robert Kotar (dad), Anja Kotar Assistants: Irena Kotar (mom), Klemen Kotar (brother) Production Designer: Robert Kotar Editor: Anja Kotar Hair: Irena Kotar Makeup: Anja Kotar SONG Written by: Anja Kotar Produced by: Dimitri Morris Mixed by: Kevin Penner Mastered by: Héctor Vega LYRICS: I wonder what you are doing In a city park writing Or better yet You know, I bet You’re at home cooking I wonder what you are wearing A cable knit sweater you pair with Corduroy slacks Wait, I take that back You might be more daring I’ve been over every detail Every puzzle piece So I know that there will come a day It could be snowing or I’ll find myself caught in the rain I’ll look into the crowd So many faces but a single one will stand out Heart skipping a beat, One, two, four and three Then suddenly Call me crazy But I think you might be The one for me Am I being romantic Or just unrealistic? If I believe In destiny And every day magic? Is there a someone for no one Or just no one for someone? Where do we fall Is it our call Can fate be outrun? I’ve been over every detail Every puzzle piece So I know that there will come a day It could be snowing or I’ll find myself caught in the rain I’ll look into the crowd So many faces but a single one will stand out Heart skipping a beat, One, two, four and three Then suddenly Call me crazy But I think you might be The one for me I guess it’s just a consequence Of being stuck in my room Have nothing to do So I start dreaming up you You might be a creation Of my subconsciousness To cope with life going mad Can you blame me for that? So I know that there will come a day It could be snowing or I’ll find myself caught in the rain I’ll look into the crowd So many faces but a single one will stand out Heart skipping a beat, One, two, four and three Then suddenly Call me crazy But I think you might be The one for me ABOUT THE VIDEO: This song has always reminded me of a classic Disney tune updated for 2021, so I wanted to bring some of that classic Disney princess magic into the music video as well. When Dimitri Morris (the producer behind this song) first sent me the final production with the soft, dreamy guitar, I immediately envisioned it playing during a bike ride. I told my brother that I want to include riding a bicycle in the music video for the song and he said, "well, why don't you just film the whole video on the bike?". And so the idea for the video was born. :) While coming up with the storyline for the music video, I thought a lot about the concept of love and the different kinds of love we are surrounded by every single day. Since the song focuses on romantic love, I wanted the music video to showcase another aspect that has been at the forefront of our lives over the past year - familial love. Throughout the video, the main character collects different gifts (bakes a cake, gets flowers, balloons, etc.) and braves through rain and snow to get to her destination, showcasing the things we are willing to go through for the ones we love. In the end, it turns out that she was on her way to her grandma's house which I thought was a sweet way to incorporate some of the optimism that people have coming out of this pandemic, finally being able to meet with and hug their grandparents after months of being apart. After all, 'Love Song' is the second to last track on the Songs From Isolation EP. Copyright (C) 2021 Kotar Music. http://vevo.ly/0mlMSW
