Hello and welcome. Today Curtis is taking you overland camping to Mirror Lake in the very popular Uinta mountains in Northern, Utah. It's not a free recreational area, but for $6.00, you can spend 3 days up here. A beautiful place and plenty of opportunity for hiking, biking, fishing, ATV riding, kayaking, and even some boondocking. We begin by exploring a back country road in the Jeep Wrangler on Chalk Creek Rd., which starts out from Coalville, Utah. At the end of this road, if you go left - you'll drive to Evanston, but if you turn right - you'll drive right to Mirror Lake. There is still a little snow up there at the moment, which is creating some water crossings... :) fun!! The Uinta's are the highest mountain range in Utah and also the 1st forest reserve. Curt makes a few stops for your viewing pleasure - Hayden Peak, Provo Falls, and of course Mirror Lake. And if the wind wasn't still blowing, the lake would look like a mirror lol... Even though it was NOT a sun shiny day, in mid-June, we were still so happy to be here. We just love the Uinta's and hope you can come see them too. Curtis offers you a simple set-up, and some basic and essential tips on saving yourself some money. Because it doesn't matter where you are, there ARE ways to stick to a budget - and save.
