A special event in Truro, Cornwall has marked the fourth anniversary of the war in Ukraine while honoring the people who opened their homes to those fleeing the conflict. The “In Line of Light for Ukraine” gathering brought together local residents and Ukrainian families who arrived through the Homes for Ukraine scheme. According to Cornwall Council, more than 670 households across Cornwall welcomed Ukrainian refugees into their homes, providing safety for over 1,270 people forced to flee Russia’s invasion of Ukraine. The event was organized to thank the Cornish community and celebrate Ukrainian culture with those who offered support during one of the most difficult moments in the lives of many families.
