Press Brief AIIMS Bibinagar Successfully Conducts 1st Cadaveric Hands-on Endoscopic Spine Surgery Workshop 13th–14th September 2025 AIIMS Bibinagar proudly announces the successful completion of its 1st Cadaveric Hands-on Endoscopic Spine Surgery Workshop, held on 13th and 14th September 2025. This landmark academic event marked a significant step in advancing minimally invasive spine surgery training in India. The two-day workshop brought together distinguished national faculty, along with eminent experts in spine surgery, to provide in-depth lectures, live demonstrations, and cadaveric hands-on training. The program offered young surgeons and trainees an invaluable opportunity to gain practical exposure to modern endoscopic techniques, enhancing both their clinical skills and academic knowledge. Renowned experts such as Prof. Dr. Pankaj Kandwal, Head of Orthopaedics, AIIMS Rishikesh, and Addl. Prof. Dr. Vivek Shankar, AIIMS Delhi, graced the event with their academic contributions. Other eminent faculty including Dr. Sukumar Sura, Dr. Gaurav Chamle, and Dr. Kaustabh Ahuja enriched the sessions through their expertise and interactive teaching. The workshop was conducted under the leadership and guidance of the Executive Director, AIIMS Bibinagar, Prof. (Dr.) Ahanthem Santa Singh , with active support from the Dean of Academics Prof. Dr. Nitin Ashok John and the Medical Superintendent, Prof. Dr. Abhishek Arora. Special efforts were taken by Professor & Head, Department of Orthopaedics, Prof. Dr. Maheshwar Lakkireddy and Addl.prof.Dr.Mrudula, HOD Anatomy, whose constant support and encouragement were instrumental in making the event a grand success. Dr. Syed Ifthekar and Dr. Srikanth received appreciation of all the delegates and guest faculty for not just carrying out endoscopic spine surgeries at AIIMS Bibinagar but for taking initiatives to teach spine surgeons from all over India, the nuances of endoscopic discectomy, a first of its kind initiative in the government set ups in the combines states of Telangana and Andhra Pradesh. Dr. Ranjith, Dr. Deepankar & Dr. Deepak along with Senior, Junior residents, Nursing officers & Staff of Orthopaedics were instrumental in effective organization of this pioneering cadaveric hands on workshop. The event witnessed enthusiastic participation from delegates across the country (30 accommodated in this session), reflecting the growing interest in minimally invasive spine surgery. Faculty interactions, case-based discussions, and cadaveric training sessions were widely appreciated by all participants. AIIMS Bibinagar reaffirms its commitment to fostering excellence in academics, research, and patient care through such innovative and skill-oriented workshops. This milestone event will pave the way for many more advanced training programs in the future. In view of extra ordinary response from many spine surgeons across India, we wish to conduct regular workshops in coming times.
