The Cwm Coke Works is a large site just north of Beddau in Rhondda Cynon Taf, South Wales. Originally the site was home to the Cwm Colliery which opened in 1909. In 1958 the Cwm Colliery expanded and the Cwm Coke Works opened. At its peak, the Cwm Colliery was producing hundreds of thousands of tons of high quality, low sulphur coal per year. Much of this was processed at the Cwm Coke Works, into high-grade coke suitable for foundry use. The National Coal Board closed the Cwm Colliery in 1986, and Cwm Coke Works in 2002. Since then the site has pretty much been neglected. The footage in the above video was taken June 2014.
