S-21 Project Open Public Event: Exploring Nature Positive Futures

*The moderator conducted the session in both Japanese and English. 27 March 2025 Nature Positive is a global societal goal defined as ‘halt and reverse nature loss by 2030 on a 2020 baseline, and achieve full recovery by 2050’, in line with the mission of the Kunming-Montreal Global Biodiversity Framework (Nature Positive Initiative, 2023). Delivering the Nature Positive goal requires measurable net-positive biodiversity outcomes through the improvement in the abundance, diversity, integrity and resilience of species, ecosystems and natural processes. The Nature Positive goal also requires us to lead both incremental and transformative changes in various direct and indirect drivers of biodiversity loss and degradation including economic, demographic, institutional, cultural, technology, values and behaviors. Centering around the Nature Positive goal, this symposium provided an opportunity to share state-of-art research findings and experiences together with leading researchers in this field from different parts of the world. https://www.iges.or.jp/en/events/2025...
