Thank you for watching my road trip to the Canadian Rockies in a Porsche 911. I travel to the Canadian Rockies a few times a year and have a love affair with the area. I also have a love affair with my 2009 Porsche 911 4S but have never driven very far - and this is a shame. The reason I have this car is because I love driving it yet, I just haven't done it enough. So, I decided to take the car on a week-long adventure (it was slightly longer than a week) and travel from Washington State to Jasper National Park, through the Icefields Parkway to Banff National Park and then, Calgary. On my return home I traveled back through Banff and then Yoho National Park. Travel Stuff I LOVE: Travel Clothes (These are the best - 15% discount): https://westernrise.com/TRAVELEAZ15 Backpacks and Bags (db Journey - the absolute best!): https://dbjourney.com/TRAVELEAZ The video highlights the many places I visited and also my drive in the car I love. Thank you for watching and please SUBSCRIBE for more videos like this. Note: I visited Jasper National Park only weeks before the tragic and devastating wildfires of 2024. Many of the locations I visited were decimated by these wildfires. My hearts go out to all of those affected. If you are thinking of traveling to Jasper in the future - do! It is one of the most exquisite locations in the world and the locals would really appreciate the business! Places visited on this trip: My first day was really just a half-day and I overnighted in Kamloops, BC. The second day I traveled north from Kamloops, through Mt. Robson Provincial Park and then arrived at Jasper. While in Jasper I visited the Jasper Tramway, Jasper Park Lodge, Maligne Canyon and Maligne Lake. After a couple of days in the Jasper townsite and area, I ventured south through the Icefields Parkway. I stopped at Athabasca Falls, Sunwapta Falls and arrived at the Columbia Icefields for one of the first tours of the day. The tour included a ride on the glacier in an Ice Explorer vehicle and then a walk on the Columbia Icefield Skywalk. Once the tour was over I continued south stopping in at Peyto Lake, Bow Lake and then Lake Louise. After some time at Lake Louise, I drove to Johnston Canyon and then eventually Banff. After a couple of days in Banff, I visited Calgary and then began my journey back west through Yoho National Park (stopping at Emerald Lake). My car: My car is a Porsche 911 4S (yes, I was happy to have the all-wheel drive on more than a few occasions). It has about 43,000 miles on it, is completely original and I have owned it for about 10 years years. It mostly sits in my garage, until this trip. The car was magnificent! It was so comfortable and love the windy roads of the rockies. The backseat area is a great place for extra luggage (although difficult to access while on the road) and for a sports car, is fairly practical. Perfect? No - and I address a few niggles in the video. Thanks for watching. Enjoy!
