VRChat is a TRAP for Language Learners

When I first started learning Japanese 2 years ago, I thought that VRChat would be a great place to practice my Japanese once I get a bit better at the language. However, as I've gotten better, I've realized that VRChat is actually kinda bad for learning languages... The main reason I think VRChat isn't that great for learning languages is not because of anything to do with VRChat itself but more about the personality of the people using VRChat. Imagine if you were in public just listening in on other's conversations- how often would you actually have to urge to start a conversation with other people? VRChat is good for language learning if you have a very specific personality type that allows you to just go into random conversations you have no interest in and just have fun talking about it. Personally, I see no reason to recommend VRChat for practicing language exchanges when iTalki exists and you can pay a few dollars for 30 minutes to 1 hour of quality conversation lessons with professional teachers.
