How do you navigate the summer holidays if you're separated/a single parent? This was discussed by Naga Munchetty, Kate Daly from Amicable, Dr Lisa Doodson, founder of Happy Steps, father of six, Lewis, and our member, Jeya (not her real name) on BBC Radio 5 on 15/07/25 Our Network was approached by the BBC to speak about co-parenting and Jeya agreed to share her story. Jeya co-parents with her ex but he often cancels or makes changes at short notice, leaving her to deal with childcare. She works from home so she tries to balance that during half-terms and winter holidays, and saves up her holidays to take a whole month off in the summer. Kate Daly shared some advice such as setting up a co-parenting plan or using a co-parenting app. She mentioned that in the first stages of divorce, it’s easier when you’re working with professionals but after they step away, parents are left to build the relationship. If communication is difficult, she advises to set boundaries and have a plan in place. The section of our member speaking and Kate’s advice is available to hear in this video. You can hear the full segment on BBC Sounds starting at approx. 39 mins into Naga’s programme - https://www.bbc.co.uk/sounds/play/m00... #SingleParents #CoParenting #WorkingParents #AsianSingleParents #Childcare
