In the 21st century, the country that dominates their export and consumption is China, which also has a monopoly on a group of metals known as rare earths. The West's dependence on China is not limited to raw materials, but also to the need for green and digital technologies. In this context, will it be possible to guarantee a sufficient and clean supply of the metals required for the energy and digital transition? What is the European Union's approach to achieving its strategic autonomy? What are the keys that will enable us to look to the future with optimism?
