Sabarimala Gold Theft Case: Kerala HC-Led SIT Books All 2019 TDB Members | News9

In a major development in the Sabarimala gold theft case, the Kerala High Court-led SIT has booked all members of the Travancore Devaswom Board (TDB) who served in 2019, including CPM leader A. Padmakumar, for alleged misappropriation of temple gold. The main accused is sponsor Unnikrishnan Potty, along with several Devaswom employees. Two separate FIRs have been registered—one for irregularities in the gold-plated Dwarapalaka idols panels (March 2019) and the other for theft from the side frames and lintel of the Sreekovil sanctum (August 2019). Meanwhile, retired Kerala HC judge K.T. Sankaran, appointed to appraise temple valuables, visited Sabarimala and will inspect the TDB strongroom in Aranmula on Monday to verify inventory.
