Date filmed: 04/06/2021 Videos filmed at: 14:22 | 14:42 Routes: South Humberside Main Line | The Barton Line Habrough Station Location: B1210, Habrough Trains: Lowering 1 (0:00): Class 185 (Transpennine Express) - 2:20 Manchester Piccadilly ➡ Cleethorpes - Lowering 2 (Starts at 3:09): 2 Class 185s (Transpennine Express) - 5:38): Cleethorpes ➡ Manchester Piccadilly A level crossing found in between the staggered platforms of Habrough Station near Immingham. There are a total of six LED wigwags at this level crossing, as there are extra wigwags provided for side roads on each side in addition to the four for the main road over the level crossing, and each of these has a pair of long shades for the red lights, and some of these are located higher up than usual. This level crossing also has a total of four alarms, though each of these is rather quiet, and there are also two extra LED pedestrian lights on one side of the road here, neither of which have any hoods or shades, but both have reflective strips around them, and one of these points into the entrance of one of the platforms here (the westbound platform here which is Platform One). Each of the four barriers here is also fairly long, and all four barriers here have supporter arms. From this station, trains heading away from Grimsby and Cleethorpes head off towards either Barnetby towards the likes of Lincoln, Sheffield and Manchester, or towards Ulceby towards Barton-on-Humber. The platforms here are staggered so that the trains can stop in the station and the level crossing barriers should raise without having to wait for the train to depart as to reduce barrier down-time, though this does not work as the longer six-carriage trains overhang and completely block the level crossing whilst stopping. The current set-up of level crossing equipment dates back to 2015 following a full level crossing renewal as part of re-signalling on the main passenger lines of North and North East Lincolnshire, and this level crossing is now monitored from York from previously having long automatic half barriers. Two lowerings are featured here, and this was the only service this station saw that hour as there was a rolling stock shortage for East Midlands Railway which meant no trains towards Barton-on-Humber all day, and now Leicester to Grimsby trains for six hours. Each lowering was filmed from each side, and all four alarms can be heard individually. Thanks for watching!
