We recently spent 72hrs in East Java and hiked Mount Bromo, Tumpak Sewu and Mount Ijen. It was a tough, but incredible 3 days exploring the most iconic landmarks in Java. Spending three days in Java made it tough to fit all of these things in, but we did it and had an epic trip. Hiking Mount Bromo at sunrise came with incredible views, and them climbing down to the base of Tumpak Sewu was equally rewarding, but the best? That was hiking Mount Ijen for sunrise. It was one of the most difficult things we did, but we made it to the top and watched at the sun lit up the beautiful blue lake that sits in the crater at the summit of Mt Ijen.
