Boxing legend Floyd Mayweather Jr. delivered a knockout visit to Chai Lifeline’s Camp Simcha in Glen Spey, NY, on July 31. Known for his quick jabs and undefeated record, Mayweather brought his championship spirit to the camp, which serves children battling cancer and chronic illnesses, offering them a unique summer experience where every medical and personal need is expertly managed. Mayweather didn’t pull any punches during his visit. He put on an impressive boxing demonstration in a specially built ring at Camp Simcha. Alongside delivering motivational talks, he engaged in activities that lifted the spirits of the brave children. His presence was a real game-changer, offering encouragement and hope to those who look up to him not only as a sports icon but also as a symbol of perseverance and strength. “We are thrilled to welcome Floyd Mayweather to Camp Simcha,” said Rabbi Simcha Scholar, CEO of Chai Lifeline. “Our children are fighters in their own right, battling illness year-round. Floyd’s visit was truly special and inspiring for them. He is a champion both in and out of the ring, and we thank him for giving our campers an experience they will never forget.” Chai Lifeline's year-round programs and services address the emotional, social, and financial needs of young patients, their parents, and siblings. http://chailifeline.org | http://campsimcha.org Our largest program is Camp Simcha/Camp Simcha Special. Every summer, 480 campers enjoy a needed respite from illness in an environment filled with friendship, love, and encouragement. They rediscover their childhood, and when they leave camp, they realize that they do not have to be defined by illness or disabilities.
