SOLD: This 1957 Chevrolet Bel Air Two-Door Sedan, has been a California car since new and in the owner’s possession since 1976. It was repainted the original colors in the Eighties and further restoration work was performed around 2014. During the restoration process, the front end is said to have been professionally rebuilt as was the original engine plus the original transmission. The odometer was reset at that time and it shows 2,137 miles recorded in the past 11 years. The owner is a perfectionist and it shows — the car is in excellent condition. FEATURES The engine is the believed-original 283-cu.in. OHV V8. New, this engine was rated at 185 horsepower with a two-barrel carburetor. The engine is paired with a Powerglide two-speed automatic transmission. A stainless-steel exhaust system was added. In the Eighties, the car was repainted the original Colonial Cream and India Ivory. Original-style acrylic lacquer was used for the paint job. The acrylic lacquer paint exhibits age-related hairline checking/cracking in areas. (They were very difficult to capture in the photographs.) The exterior trim and chrome appear in very good condition, along with the glass. The black-and-yellow vinyl interior has been restored and appears in very good condition. The entire new interior upholstery was produced by the company Ciadella. A Ciadella interior is an original Chevrolet replacement set of original patterns and colors for 1957 Bel Airs. The headliner also appears in very good condition. The factory clock has been updated with a quartz movement and seat belts were added. There’s a factory AM radio in the dashboard, but it does not work. There are no apparent cracks in the steering wheel. In the trunk is the original BFGoodrich spare tire and the original jack. The shock absorbers have been replaced, along with the fuel tank. The car has manual steering and manual drum brakes. BFGoodrich Radial T/A tries are mounted on 15-inch American Racing Torq-Thrust wheels. For additional information please visit www.SpokeMotors.com
