Lined Up for the Light… Some mornings feel like the ocean is already waiting for you. Today on the Venice Pier, the sky was soft and silver, the waves rolling in quietly as if they were breathing with me. Before I even made it very far, the birds were already lining up along the rail like it was roll call. Their excitement always amazes me. They don’t hesitate. They just come, full of trust and joy. Honey Girl came up from behind like she always does and landed on my shoulder, as if to say good morning in the sweetest way. Baby girl stood proudly on the pier with the lifeguard trucks behind her, watching everything like she owned the morning. And honestly, it felt like they all did. Their happiness is contagious. The way they fly toward me, circle, land, and look right into my eyes reminds me that connection doesn’t always need words. It’s presence. It’s consistency. It’s showing up. I held my little message in the morning light: Free medicine… sunshine, walking, hugs, deep breaths, meditation, exercise, smiling, and journaling. Standing there with the ocean moving below and wings all around me, it felt completely true. Every day feels a little better than the one before. Not because life is perfect, but because I keep noticing the beauty that’s already here. Today reminded me again that gratitude multiplies when we share it. And these birds… they always make sure I do. Capturing beauty, sharing light. —April Morning Gratitude Thought: This morning the birds lined up on the pier like they were waiting just for me. Honey Girl landed on my shoulder, baby girl stood proudly nearby, and the ocean carried the quiet rhythm of gratitude beneath us all. Their happiness is contagious. Every day truly gets better when we choose to show up, notice the beauty, and receive the love that’s already flying toward us.
