"Rhythm Selection", 2000. Accent-Circonflexe formed in 1997. The group went on to release two demos throughout 1998, and in March of 1999, the group appeared on the "From the Future" omnibus, and later released its first mini-album, "First Contact", that July. The album ended up having mediocre sales, and by the end of 1999, Accent-Circonflexe finally managed to develop a very small cult following for their melodic sound that bordered on alternative and pop rock. Accent-Circonflexe toured throughout the remainder of 1999 and most of 2000, and released two more demos throughout 2000, but eventually ended up disbanding by the end of 2000, despite their rising recognition in the visual underground. Frontman Hiro retired from the visual scene and instead joined the underground group B.R.L, which he was active in until it also eventually split. After B.R.L split, Hiro then retired from the underground music scene in general. The drummer of Accent-Circonflexe, Kiyomasa, joined the indies group Zipper, which he was active in until it eventually split as well after about a year of activity. After Zipper disbanded, Kiyomasa then retired from the visual scene.
