On February 4th 2024 I went to the shores of Hua Hin with my Handpan and a simple idea: to practice in my favorite spot near the InterContinental Condo right by the vibrant kite surfing spot. February in Hua Hin is special. The winds are gentle the sky is painted in gold and the beach is full of life. Usually the delicate sound of the Handpan gets lost in the breeze and the roar of the ocean. But this time I decided to try something different. I brought along 15 Silent Disco headphones the ones my friends and I usually use for beach parties. I set up my microphone plugged in the transmitter and placed the headphones on a stand. I had zero expectations. I just wanted to share the harmony. Before I even struck the first note the magic began. People walking by were curious. I explained they could listen to the live sound directly in the headphones. Within minutes even before the first melody started all 15 pairs were gone. A small silent community gathered on the sand waiting in stillness. Playing that evening wasn’t just a practice; it was a shared meditation. The 432 Hz frequency of the Handpan blended perfectly with the natural white noise of the waves. For me playing this instrument is the ultimate way to clear the mind and create a space of pure harmony.
