Around 1993 - 1994, Sega was creating Sonic 3, the next big Sonic game at the time. Somehow, Michael Jackson himself collaborated with Sega to make tracks for the zones. But MJ was not alone. MJ also came to Sega with another musician who was named Brad Buxer. Sometime before or during this collaboration, Brad Buxer and his band, The Jetzons, created the song "Hard Times". Hard Times appears in the album "The Complete Jetzons" and the song was actually used as inspiration for the final version of the infamous Sonic 3 zone, Ice Cap.
