Series Playlist:    • Engines of Amtrak   After a bit of a delay, its finally here! Amtrak's Genesis locomotives came in at a time when the railroad's F40PH's were getting up in age. They'd been the primary motive power since the mid 1970s, and by then it was the 1990s. Amtrak needed a new and modern replacement to their boxy engines. General Electric was chosen to manufacture a replacement. It went under the name AMD-103, but would later better be known as the P40DC, or more generally speaking, Genesis. This line of locomotives would prove to be a major upgrade for Amtrak and continues to impact the railroad to this day.
